My name is Qaey and this is my first summer teaching at CAML Academy. I earned my Bachelor’s of Elementary Education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and my Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Montana State University Billings. In my nearly ten years teaching, I have had the privilege of teaching a gifted pull-out program for 2nd through 6th graders in Alaska (I.G.N.I.T.E); Microsoft Office, Photoshop Elements, and 3D Graphic design using Terragen and POV-Ray to 2nd through 12th grade students at a residential treatment facility in Montana; and Microsoft Office, video editing and coding to Kindergarten through 8th grade students at a charter school in Raleigh.
In my spare time I write romance, suspense, and speculative fiction. My first novel was published by an online publisher in 2007. I enjoy bringing my experience and knowledge about writing and story generation into the realm of coding, and get a kick out of seeing the development and strengthening of students’ problem solving skills both here at CAML Academy and my charter school.
